Cinnatropin® is a biosimilar brand of recombinant human growth hormone (somatropin) manufactured by the biopharmaceutical company CinnaGen. Formulated as a clear, colorless solution for subcutaneous injection, it is available in prefilled pens of 10 mg/1.5 mL (30 IU) strengths to treat growth hormone deficiencies in both pediatric and adult patients. To use the device, you must store the pen in the refrigerator between 2°C and 8°C, pull it out 10 to 15 minutes before use to reach room temperature, and attach a new sterile pen needle for each dose. After priming the device on its first use to clear air bubbles, dial your exact doctor-prescribed dose, cleanse an injection site on your abdomen or thigh, and insert the needle straight down at a 90-degree angle. Once you press the injection button fully down until the dial returns to zero, you must hold the needle under the skin for 6 to 10 seconds to ensure the full volume is delivered before removing it, unscrewing the needle into a sharps container, and immediately returning the capped pen to the refrigerator.
